A few words about our nonprofit
Enhancing the quality of life of seniors and their families is the reason SAGA Gives To Seniors, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, exists. Aging presents its unique set of demands. They include isolation, maintaining independence, hunger, and the lack of mobility.
SAGA Gives To Seniors’ belief is that every older adult deserves to live a dignified, comforted, and joyful life. Our goal is to impact seniors positively by providing education, facilitating events, and seeking tailored solutions for the needs of seniors and their families. We depend on collaboration with community partners and the financial support of donors to meet our goal.
The Giving Projects
Hunger
Creating Food Security Solutions for Seniors
SAGA Gives To Seniors explores practical and innovative opportunities to remove the barriers to food security which may often relieve hunger.
Barriers can be as simple as the weight of food items or the ability to open them.
Isolation
Sharing Advancements through Education
SAGA Gives To Seniors strives to promote community-based education for early detection and increased awareness of the advancements made to improve the health of seniors.
The effects of isolation are devastating. Community awareness can identify the signs of isolation:
- Limited physical abilities
- Distance from family and friends
- Financial issues
- Decreased social interaction
- The effects of chronic illnesses
Dementia and Alzheimer’s are among the diseases that contribute to isolation. Currently, they are some of the most researched areas on aging.
SAGA Gives To Seniors strives to increase awareness of the enormous opportunities to enhance and improve the health of seniors.
Uplifting Events
Stimuating Joy through the Arts
Research shows music and creative activities are helpful to seniors dealing with loneliness, dementia, and Alzheimer’s.
SAGA Gives To Seniors seeks out and collaborates with organizations to bring events that improve the mood, behavior, and cognition of seniors who are experiencing dementia and Alzheimer’s diseases.
